Traditional Q’ero Despacho Ceremony in the mountains of Ausangate
This is a traditional ceremonial offering of prayer to the spirits of the land in Peru. Meastra Mercedes and her Husband Jostino are native Q’ero shamans, one of the last living descendants of the Incas, who will guide you through this sacred experience in the powerful mountains of Ausangate. It’s a special and powerful way to ask for blessings of good health, protection, and prosperity, while deepening your connection to the mountains and the spirits of the land.
We will drive about 3 hours to their house as the base of Apu (mountain) Ausangate, have a nourishing dinner upon arrival and spend the evening at their house with her family. Its humble, simple house and a beautiful way to get to know how the local indigenous live. They will most likely show you their handmade crafts of tapestries, bags, belts, scarfs, altar cloths, feathers ect. available for purchase.
The next day we will enjoy an early breakfast and head off on our ceremony. We will take a 1.5 hour horse ride in the mountains to the ceremony location. Here we will ask permission from the mountain to work with its energy, receive a “limieza” or cleansing in the sacred waters, then sit traditional ceremony where we give Despacho offerings to the fire and request our prayers from the mountain spirit. We will ride the horses back, enjoy a nourishing meal and head back to the Sacred Valley.

Huachuma Ceremony
Huachuma is a legal, native medicine to the high andes of Peru A cactus, known as the Grandfather spirit. He is a powerful plant teacher and healer, used to treat physical, emotional, and spiritual ailments. The experience is often described as heart-opening and can provide insights into one’s life and personal growth.
Huachuma brings you out of the mind into the depths of the heart to help you experience the pure power of divine, unconditional love to help you heal on a soul level, remember the truth of who you are and connect you deeper with nature.
He will show you where the limitations and the patterns for your ego are getting in the way of living up to your full potential. The medicine provides great support in releasing suppressed traumas, emotions and the pain in your heart so that you can return to your natural state of being and welcome in greater levels of peace, freedom and connection in your life. He will help you harmonize your mental, emotional, physical and spiritual body.
The ceremony will take place in a special location by a beautiful river at the base of Puma Huanca - a special mountain here in Sacred Valley, with Avalon and I holding space for you throughout the entire experience. At times, you'll have quiet moments to connect with the medicine on your own, while other times will involve music, prayer, and open discussions to support whatever comes up for you. After we will return home for closing fire ceremony.

Sound Healing Ceremony
A special, privately curated Sound Healing Ceremony guided by Avalon held in the coziness of the house. The ceremony is weaved with crystal bowls, crystal pyramids, flute, drum, harmonica, sacred songs and personalized light language.
Sweat Lodge with Aleider
A traditional sweat lodge is an ancient healing ceremony that invites purification, offering a journey inward and into the womb of Mother Earth. Through this ceremony, we connect with the four elements, their spirits, our ancestors, guides, and the cycle of life and death. It is both a rebirth and a celebration of life. When we emerge from the lodge, we are renewed with greater clarity, fresh energy, and cleansed from various energies. The experience is designed to be safe yet can also be challenging.
The sweat lodge is guided by Aleider, a storyteller, voice alchemist, and medicine man. Initiated through the Celtic sweat lodge tradition, he also incorporates teachings from the Lakota tribe of North America. His work as a facilitator of Sacred Space, especially in connecting to the authentic voice, has deepened his understanding of prayer within the lodge. His ceremonies are beautifully crafted journeys into the heart, blending prayer, devotional singing, and storytelling in harmony with the elements and the wisdom of the medicine wheel.

Afternoon at the Spa
A luxury spa experience at the beautiful Casa Raiz that includes a 60 minute message and 90 minutes spent in the dry chamber sauna, eucalyptus steam room, Spanish shower, a tub made with stones and quartz rocks (hand picked and brought down from the mountains by one of the owners) and pools with fresh water from the mountains naturally purified by salt from the maras.
Yes it is as dreamy as it sounds!
Sacred Site Hikes
Enjoy a hike at some of the valleys more magical portals such as Puma Huanca, Kinsa Kocha, Pisaq Ruins and Huchuy Qosqo. Each hike moderate level and will last around 3-6 hours. Together we will make offerings of prayer to the lands to help support your journey a you take in the stunning views and powerful energy these hikes have to offer.
Make your experience a Rose initiation
Throughout this experience you will be drinking tea strongly steeped with love and prayers from the local white Hampi Roses that bloom here in Peru as you work with her healings and teachings, making this experience feminine centered.
The rose is known to bring you into your majesty and awaken your feminine essence to help guide you as the divine leader of your life, bring you into the great mystery of your heart and ignite healing to your being that will last lifetimes. Through this immersion, alongside shamanic ceremonies and workshops, you will initiate with her spirit and anchor in the teachings and blessings she has for you.

Intense and powerful healing…
Sydney led a beautifully intentional women’s spirit retreat in which I experienced a deeply transformative journey of healing and knowing. Usually I only do solo retreats, and I honestly wasn’t sure how I would react to being with other people and other women. But I had powerful visions during the breathwork sessions as well as the ceremony in Pumahuanca, that were significantly meaningful and life impacting. As well, I met my Sisters in transformation, Emily and Luna, from whom I learned so much.
Sydney properly communicated to and prepared the retreatants, and she also emphasized the important of the integration protocol through multiple check ins and breathwork sessions. Avalon is an angelic light being who knew exactly how to heal. Zack’s incredibly flavorful and healthy cooking was Michelin level cuisine. I feel that Sydney’s retreats offer so much and that retreat progress is purposeful.
It's my hope that Sydney will have future retreats, because I will definitely plan to fly to Peru to continue my personal transformation.

I recommend booking your flight to arrive in Cusco either in the morning or midday on your scheduled arrival day. Alternatively, you can arrive the day before and spend the night in Cusco, a safe and charming city with affordable accommodations. I will arrange for a trusted taxi to pick you up in Cusco and bring you to the retreat home.
You will most likely have a connecting flight into Lima, where you will go through customs and re-check your bags. There are not ATMS in Cusco ariport so I would get your cash out in Lima

Typically, the Sacred Valley is hot during the day (Around 70 F or 22 C) and cold in the night and early mornings.(around 40 F or 5 C). We are high in altitude which means no mosquitos!
May - August is dry season with no rain.
September - April is rainy season here with the peak rain months being December through March.
